Sharing Bookmarks in Netscape Navigator

Bookmarks are Netscape Navigators way of remembering web sites for you.

You can save your bookmarks as a web page which you can then import into a different browser, take home on a disk or send to someone.

This ITip explains how to save your bookmarks in Netscape 4.6 - the procedure will be the same/similar in other versions).

  1. menu icon Select Communicator, Bookmarks > Edit Bookmarks... or press keyboard icon [Ctrl]+[b]. A new window will open listing your bookmarks.
  2. menu icon Select File, Save As
  3. Find a suitable folder for the file and if you wish change the file name then mouse icon press Save.

You now have a copy of your bookmarks in a web page. You can mouse icon double click on the file to open it and it can be taken home on a disk, e-mailed and so on.
